Willie E. Gary, Prominent Attorney and Chairman of the Black Family Channel, Partners with the National Black MBA Association’s Leaders of Tomorrow Program

The Black Family Channel has joined forces with the National Black MBA Association’s Leaders of Tomorrow program, in an effort to provide underprivileged students with educational opportunities and exposure to careers in broadcast journalism.  Willie Gary, Chairman of the Black Family Channel and Barbara Thomas, President and CEO of the National Black MBA Association unveiled the partnership, during the National Black MBA Association’s 26th annual conference in Houston, Texas.

The newly formed enterprise between the Black Family Channel and the Leaders of Tomorrow program fosters the commitment of both organizations to make an impact on and improve the lives of future leaders.  The Black Family Channel plans to support the Leaders of Tomorrow by promoting them through its programming, encouraging students to discuss widespread issues and remedies.  The Black Family Channel will also provide internships for future leaders who are interested in pursuing careers in various aspects of the television industry.

“This venture is a natural fit because Willie Gary’s mission and that of the Black Family Channel, is very much aligned with the objectives of the National Black MBA Association’s Leaders of Tomorrow program,” said Thomas.  Furthermore, it is our goal that through this partnership, we will help drive and increase distribution and viewership of the Black Family Channel,” Thomas continued.

“I am truly excited about the potential of this partnership, as it is an extension of the Black Family Channel’s educational platform,” said Gary.  This enterprise represents hope and opportunity for students who may otherwise have been overlooked.  Our aim is to inspire and touch the lives of these young boys and girls to show them that success is reachable and goals are attainable.  The Black Family Channel is committed to paving the way for our future leaders,” continued Gary.

The Black Family Channel is America’s only minority owned and operated, 24-hour cable network committed to providing wholesome entertainment for the entire family.  The mission of the Black Family Channel is to inform, entertain and empower urban communities with quality family programming.  Although the Black Family Channel targets African American viewers, its services and offerings are non-exclusive and designed to positively impact the entire community.
