Stuart, FL (June 6, 2005) – Prominent attorney Paul McMahon has been certified as a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, one of the most prestigious groups of trial lawyers in the United States. McMahon was recognized for his exceptional work on numerous cases dating back to 1991, which resulted in jury verdicts and final arbitration awards of over $1 million and in excess of $15 million. McMahon, a partner in the Florida-based law firm of Gary, Williams, Parenti, Finney, Lewis, Mc Manus, Watson and Sperando P.L., was instrumental in reaching a recent landmark settlement in the wrongful death, civil rights lawsuit brought against Miami Children’s Hospital and the State of Florida. The agreement stemmed from a blatant disregard for medical care after 17-year-old Omar Paisley pleaded for medical attention for nearly three days while in Miami-Dade Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
McMahon is a 1987 graduate of University of Toledo College of Law and specializes in civil litigation, personal injury, products liability and civil rights. McMahon joined the Gary Law Firm in 1987 and is a member of the National Bar Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers and the St. Lucie County, Florida Bar Association, where he served as president. He has received numerous recognitions and honors including an appointment by the Supreme Court of Florida to Chairman of the 19th Judicial Circuit Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee.
The Million Dollar Advocates Forum is recognized as the most prestigious group of trial lawyers in the United States. Membership is limited to attorneys who have won million and multi-million dollar verdicts, awards and settlements. The organization was founded in 1993 and there are approximately 3000 members located throughout the country. Forum membership acknowledges excellence in advocacy, and provides members with a national network of experienced colleagues for professional referral and information exchange in major cases. Members must have acted as principal counsel in at least one case in which their client has received a verdict, award or settlement in the amount of $1 million or more.
