Willie E. Gary, Prominent Attorney and Chairman of the Black Family Channel, Hosts “Christmas in July” Gala in Orlando, Florida

Willie E. Gary Presented with Key to the City during Black Tie Gala which Featured the Manhattans, Biz Markie and Perfect Image   

Stuart, FL-- Willie E. Gary, prominent attorney and chairman of the Black Family Channel, recently hosted a “Christmas in July” Gala during the National Bar Association’s 80th Annual Convention at the JW Marriott in Orlando, Florida. Thousands converged upon the city of Orlando to attend the black tie affair which featured live performances by the legendary Manhattans, D. J. Biz Markie and The Perfect Image from Mobile, Alabama.   

Guests arrived at the JW Marriott “dressed to the nines” including Orlando Mayor Ernest Page and Commissioner Daisy Lynum who recognized Gary for his many accomplishments and his philanthropic endeavors, by presenting him with a key to the city. Baseball great, Cecil Fielder and actor, Tommy Ford also attended the event, posing for photos with excited fans. The elegant party which included dinner, dancing and musical entertainment, proved to be an evening to remember. Party goers enjoyed butlered h’ors doerves, carving stations and decadent desserts. The famous “Manhattans” and soulful group “The Perfect Image” provided world-class performances which kept the dance floor full the entire evening. Hip-hop emcee, D. J. Biz Markie mixed the hottest dance music, taking the party into the morning hours.  This gala was at no cost to guests and the invitation was open to all who wished to attend.           

“We were delighted to share this festive event with our guests,” said Gary. “The idea was to have an evening of great food, great fellowship and great entertainment and I feel we succeeded beyond our expectations,” continued Gary.                

Gary, who is best known in legal circles for taking on some of America’s most powerful companies, winning billions of dollars in verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients. Gary is also the Chairman of the Black Family Channel, America’s only minority owned and operated, 24-hour cable network. Known for his philanthropic endeavors, he and his wife, Dr. Gloria Gary, founded The Gary Foundation, which provides college scholarships to at-risk students who wish to attend college. The Gary’s have donated millions of dollars to help Historically Black Colleges and Universities including $10 million to his alma mater Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina.
